Michael Angelo Longo - Artist

This Page is devoted to my ongoing interest in the History of the fighting soldier and War. Specifically, I focus on the WWI and WWII eras. I prefer to capture the "Small Group", the introspective subject dealing with the single soldier or his "band of brothers". 

   My studio is set up with four to seven mannequins, at any one time,  in which to dress in authentic uniforms and equipment for inspiration.  I keep many  footlockers of  "memorabilia" available, at my reach,  so that I can achieve a greater level of realism in my paintings. Also, to have and hold this historic items in my hand, gives me greater sense of the history of that time, the pain, the courage, and the duty these men performed for their Countries.
