Michael Angelo Longo - Artist

I have been an Artist all my life!  I can remember learning how to draw, and paint by watching my first mentor, Jon Nagy, on television. I was only three years old, but I knew then that art was a way for me to express myself, to communicate to others, my emotions, thoughts and passions. Those early lessons set the ground work for my budding talent. Since then, I became my own Master in Oil Painting, Sculpting, Jewelry, Stained Glass, Harpsichord construction, and Photography.  However, my passion is that of the portrait.  My favorite subject matter, is the female Model.

MY WORK in Oil Painting 

My Artistic goal is to create  works of Art for my personal collection,public exhibits and sale. 

   My choice of medium is Oil paint on canvas. Since I work only as inspired, I might work on an Art piece at any time of the day or night. Therefor, preferably working from a photograph instead of from life, is more a more realistic approach to the "Artist/Model" relationship.  Photography, in itself, is as much a passion, as I enjoy taking photographs to use as reference for a painting, but is second to the actual painting of the work itself!   My photographs, although tools for the Art works, are  considered Art Works in themselves.
